In the southwest is the cistern for providing water to the wells in winter when the river freezes. They exist purely to satisfy the needs of strange moods and the mandates of nobles. Tucked in between the carpenter shops and the furniture piles are a bowyer’s shop and a siege workshop. The clutter is because I just changed my mind how I wanted the furniture stockpiles setup. The stockpiles around the southern shop provide various masterwork furniture for that jeweler shop to encrust.
South of the wood pile is the gem stockpile the adjoining jeweler’s shops are for cutting and encrusting gems. In the north-west is the grand dining hall with adjoining stairs that connect to the farm industry and food stockpiles. To the north on either side of the chasm are leather and cloth stock piles with relavent shops adjacent. West of the wood pile are an ashery and a soap maker’s shop. I had to make a lot of charcoal since I don’t have access to actual coal. Wood furnaces are used to make ash and charcoal. The 9 carpentry shops to the east are probably excessive they were each set to build a single item. Lumber stockpile surrounded by wood using workshops. This area has a higher than average chance of making miasma, make sure it is fully enclosed and the doors are unobstructed. This consists of a butcher’s shop, tanner’s shop, kitchen, craft shop, corpse stockpile, and dump/refuse stockpile. To the north of that (not pictured) is the meat industry. In the north is the lower half of the “chasm bridge.” If the enemies have made it this far, we may be in for more Fun than we can handle. This was intended to try and prevent dwarfs from leaving buckets everywhere. On the east side of the waterworks is a bucket stockpile. There’s another stockpile to the north (not pictured) that holds cups, mugs, and goblets for drinking the brews. The north-west stockpile just holds empty barrels for brewing or other food storage. Only one still is setup since the brew stocks are always overfull.
The central stockpile holds all the brew. The Southern stockpile holds prepared food served by the 4 kitchens to the west. Western stockpile is for unprepared food. In the north-west you see the food industry. This should automatically restart the reactor. While the reactor is running, there whould neve be enough water pressure to open the door, but if the reactor stops because there’s too much water in the system the pressure plate will open the door and release water. The door is controlled by the pressure plate inside. West of the drain field is the lower level of the dwarf cold fusion water reactor. As a final recourse, the waterworks can be opened onto the central staircase rendering it unusable.Īmong the levers controlling the waterworks, is the fortress prison. The wells can be separated from the decorative pond if only part of it needs to be drained. The large area to the south is a drain field. The switches control floodgates and bridges to access the waterworks. This is the flooded level for the pond for the entry hall and serving the wells on the level above.
